About Us

One accountable crew

You probably know us for one thing. We do five.

Most contractors know us for one or two capabilities. Bedrock self-performs the entire sequence — so a single crew can scan, drill, cut, dig, and pour without handing your project off to three different subs.

What we do

Five capabilities

SCAN

GPR Scanning

Ground-penetrating radar to locate rebar, post-tension cables, utilities, structural members, and voids — before any cut or core.

DRILL

Core Drilling

Walls, floors, decks, ceilings. Penetrations for MEP runs, anchors, and sleeves. Diameters under 1″ to 48″; stitch drilling for oversized openings.

CUT

Sawing & Cutting

Flat, wall, wire, and ring sawing for openings, trenches, and selective demolition. Our wire saw cuts to unlimited depth.

DIG

Excavation

Interior and exterior digging for footings, utilities, elevator pits, and trenches. Electric mini excavators reach occupied spaces through a 36″ doorway.

POUR

Placement & Finishing

Pour-backs, equipment and housekeeping pads, grade beams, sidewalks, loading docks, and ADA ramps — plus full restoration.

Our story

Built on clean work since 1984

Bedrock Concrete Cutting was founded in 1984 and grew into a trusted partner for many of the largest general and trade contractors in the Portland Metro area — earning a reputation for safety, precision, and clean work environments.

Ownership changed hands in 2017, and we've kept that tradition while expanding our size and scope. Today the Bedrock team brings together more than 149 years of combined experience in concrete sawing and drilling — field know-how paired with cutting-edge equipment.

Frequently asked questions

Do you self-perform all five services?
Yes — scanning, drilling, cutting, excavation, and pouring are all handled in-house, so one accountable crew covers the full sequence with no handoffs to multiple subs.
What kinds of projects do you take on?
Hospitals and medical facilities, high-tech manufacturing, public infrastructure, and commercial construction — from GPR scans and core drilling to bridge work, reservoir repairs, and new manufacturing slabs.
Do you work in occupied or operating facilities?
Yes — a large share of our work is inside active facilities like hospitals, labs, and manufacturing plants. We plan around your operations and keep the work clean and low-disruption.
Do you do residential work?
We focus on commercial, industrial, and public projects. We'll take on residential work when it comes through another contractor.
What size holes can you core?
Core diameters from under 1″ up to 48″, at depths from a few inches to 10+ feet. For openings larger than a single bit, we stitch drill or use a jig for our wire saw to cut round holes.
What concrete cutting and sawing do you do?
Flat/slab sawing, wall sawing, wire sawing, and ring sawing — for openings, trenches, selective demolition, and precision cuts. Our wire saw has no depth or size limit.
Do you x-ray concrete?
We use ground-penetrating radar (GPR) instead of X-ray. GPR needs access to only one side, gives real-time results, and requires no radiation or clearing the area.
How deep can you scan?
It depends on a number of factors — the thickness and density of the concrete, moisture, how congested the reinforcement is, one- or two-sided access, and what we're locating. Typically we see to around 12″ reliably from one side, and often up to 18″.
Are you hiring?
We're always interested in skilled, safety-minded people. See our Careers page and reach out.
